Our primary concern is to find good homes for our piggies and we try our best to ensure that it will be a good fit for both you and the guinea pig(s). That being said, we do understand that occasionally an adoption does not work out the way one thought it would. In those circumstances, we've provided some options below.
If you paid a deposit or full adoption fee but changed your mind about adopting:
- If you contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled pick up time, we will happily refund the total amount you paid minus $5.00 to cover processing fees.
- If you meet up with us at your pick up time, but decide not to adopt, we will happily refund the total amount you paid minus $10.00 to cover processing fees and the time blocked off specifically for you.
If you decide you no longer want, or are able to care for the guinea pig(s) you adopted from us:
- Adopting an animal is a commitment, yet if you find that within the first 14 days after you adopt your guinea pig(s) you no longer want, or able to care for them, please contact us immediately to schedule a drop off time. We will refund your adoption fee minus $25.00.
- If you adopted your guinea pig(s) more than 14 days prior, we are able to take them for you, but will not issue a refund.
Though extremely rare, if the guinea pig(s) you adopted from us appear to be ill:
- If adopted within the previous 14 days, please contact us immediately so we can evaluate the health of the guinea pig(s) and provide vet care if needed. In these cases, we will refund you the total adoption fee OR replace the guinea pig(s) with another of your choice.
- Once adopted, if a guinea pig was harmed by a human or another animal, no refund will be issued. Please use care when holding your guinea pigs so they are not dropped, and use extreme caution if your guinea pig will be near any other animal as guinea pigs are prey animals. It's a best practice to keep them completely separated from other animals and in their own secure cage behind a closed door.
- Guinea pigs typically thrive when their cages are kept clean and all their needs are being met. If at any time you find that your guinea pig(s) do not appear to be in good health, review our guinea pig care sheet for common health issue care (coming soon.)
